The bubble in social networking has burst, decisively. LiveJournal, the San Francisco-based arm of Sup, a Russian Internet startup, has cut about 20 of 28 employees — and offered them no severance, we're told.

Apparently, according to [livejournal.com profile] rhodri  (who writes for the Independent, who are in partnership with LJ UK), the LJ redundancies are as a result of the company moving operations from Los Angeles to Moscow. Which, given that LJ is now Russian-owned makes sense.

So, thus far there may not be a reason to panic.  But just in case there is LJ Archive, but it is no longer directly supported and is limited to 500 entries.
